An Era Came to An End

Sabri Brothers started their career from 1958. They have a plenty of Qawalis in their career which gave them fame all around the world. The Most famous which are still in our minds and in our singer practices are Tajdaar e Haram , Mera koi nahi hai Teray siwa, Bharday Jholi, Khuwaja ki diwani and many more to list here. They were also awarded with Pride of performance award in 1970 and in 1978. Till 2001 both brothers Maqbool Sabri and Ghulam Farid Sabri worked together but their career ended with the death of Ghulam Farid Sabri.
                                                                                  People could forget all the famous qawalis but there was a fruit of their work was ready . The fruit of the seed was ready which was sowed by Ghulam Farid Sabri. Yes obviously the one and only Amjad Sabri was ready to take place of his father. He was the son of a legend who received all the trainings of Qawwali sung from his father when he was only nine years old. He was a great follower of his father and uncle, although he was very young when his father passed away but its really a miracle what he did in his career for the name and fame of his father and uncle.
                                                    Earlier qawwali was just a piece of enjoyment or relaxation for the Sufis or the old people but Amjad gave it a new look. He presented his father,s sung verses (which we call Kalam) in a way that the youngsters were also attracted towards his singing. As the time passed he continued his singing in India, Dubai, London, America  etc. ROCK STAR OF QAWWALI , This was the honoured name for him.

                                                   He had the power to win hearts , He was the man of courage, Whenever he sang the Qawwalis there was always an inner feeling which he himself called that it is my love towards Allah and His last messenger Hazrat Mohammad PBUH. That was obviously his love that he made a special place in the hearts of his every listener and also this love made him cry.
And obviously that was his love when he recited the Kalam on the last night before his death when he was crying and singing MAIN QABER ANDHERI  MAIN GHABRAUNGA JAB TANHA... IMDAAD MERI KERNAY AJANA RASOOL ALLAH. Theses were the last verses of Amjad Sabri with full of tears in his eyes but nobody could think that the example of humanity is just going forever to his Allah and will make everyone cry.

                                                     That was a shocking news for everyone and a saddest day of Paksitan history when the people watched the news on channels that Reknown Qawwal Amjad Sabri shot dead by motorcyclists in Karachi when he was going for his scheduled program of ramadhan Transmission. Everyone became shocked because no one was agreed to accept the death of  a wise man full of humanity and a great artist who has no controversies with anyone, who had no bad feelings for anyone, who always said wise words for everyone and he was the great lover and follower of Hazrat Mohammad PBUH.

He was the man of Allah who always smiled and spreaded smiles on the sadfaces. A noble man with no proud on his fame and name, who gave the priority to live in his hometown rather than to be shifted in any posh area of Karachi and that was his love towards his home town that he was died  in Liaquatabad where Amjad was living from his childhood and under the same bridge which was named after his Father. Thousands of people were crying and everyone was their who was saying Amjad was his friend. With the lac of tears and many prayers he was buried in Paposh Nagar Qabristan. His funeral was the big one in Pakistan's history and also the indication for his killers that you will be killed unknowingly because no one knows you but he was Allah's man who went in his grave with smiling face and with lots of peoples' prayers and he was known Shaheed killed in the Holy Month of Ramadhan in the condition of Fasting. 

                                                                      
Again a comittee was built, politicians visited his home for condolence but no one is there to kept the killers in prison. No one knows why Amjad was killed? who killed him? what were the reasons behind his murder? Will there be the killers in prison?
                                                   Amjad Sabri who is not among us now but will be in our hearts forever with his voice and with his Kalam e Ishq. He not only did like his father but did his best as now everyone is singing his qawwalis,his last Kalam . May Allah rest his soul in peace. Aameen
