DOWRY IS A CURSE FOR A SOCIETY
"DOWRY IS A CURSE" we have listen this statement many time and many people but no one is ready to take stand against this custom practically. The ancient custom of dowry follows in ASIA, NORTH AFRICA, and THE BARKANS, basically this curse is adopted by us from neighbouring country INDIA,before partition time when Indo pak lived together as like many hinduistic traditions(mayoon,basant etc) so basically it is an old ancient custom from India.
Contention about dowries sometimes result in act of violence against women's including killing and acid throwing attacks.The mandate for the dowry is the cause of many evil incidents in our society, many proposals and marriages surceased for dowries demand from groom and his family.Many people are doing marriages in greediness of money from bride family.
I have a question for all those people who deny to accept the daughter of poor man or doing violence or given divorced for dowries just because she can't take the things you demands or she can't afford your list of demands like house, cars, bike,air conditions, jewellery, money etc.. So what you will do in future when all of this suffer with you and because of you with your daughter too,if u can't afford demand list too,always be remember that"YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW".
Some parents who can afford all the expense of dowry easily and think that the more luxurious things they give their daughter the more respect she gets from their inlaws, but why they can't think that they are spreading or increasing this evil custom and also making trouble for those parents who can not afford it for their daughters.There are many people around us who earns hardly 10 to 12k monthly or less with responility of 3 or 4 daughters,so how can a father manage their daughters dowries?and in result of such cases girls crossed their suitable marriage ages!
Some parents take a huge borrow for their daughter proper dowry so we hear a sentence many time that girls are burden for their parents but the confusion is that for me who makes girls burden? Yes our very own society, our people, our own made traditions..! Today you make burden their daughter for them and tommorow someone make burden your daughter for you!! In form of dowry continuously these roots are spreading far far away without any ending!!!
Even there is in Islam no mandate about giving dowries to daughtets,sadly but truely we are following the trend which proves a girl burden for their prents but Islam tells us "Girls are mercy of ALLAH".
in the end I want to say that dowry should be banned in all countries,this is the tridition which spread difficulties for a poor man and make trouble the life of girls.I request to our government to ban the dowry system in Pakistan strictly for sake of poor people life's.we need to take some proper and serious stand against this system people please loud your voice against dowry and SAY NO TO DOWRY!!!
